    Accurate self-positioning system

Each profiled insert is positioned with a three contact point locating system on the tool body. This system eliminates the inherent positioning error of standard profiled inserts that are secured by just screws against one surface of the tool body, or by wedge gibs. The spring loaded system positions the insert knives within a repeatability of 0.0003” (3/10 of 1 thousandth of an inch). This system eliminates the time of trial and error checking of the knife position. It delivers more consistent production results due to the repeated exact positioning of the profile on all knives in the tool. Product quality is increased, scrap rejects are decreased.

Rear clamping system with single screw fastening

Secure clamping pressure is from the large diameter single screw located at the rear of the knife assembly. Positive interlocking of the knife and the clamping back plate with the solid tool body provides extremely high security even if the screw is loose.

Diamond or carbide inserts in the same tool body

Choose to mount either Diamond or Carbide inserts in the same tool body to optimize the cutting edge for different material applications (hardwood, softwood, MDF, particle board, solid acrylics, cement board). This dual system also allows a new profile to be prototyped and tested with lower cost carbide cutting edges. Once the new design is approved, continuous production can then be started using the same tool body with diamond inserts.

    Change profiles as needed

Use one Next G series tool body for different profiles. One common body style standardizes tooling set ups in the tool room and out at the machine. Users can reduce their inventory of dedicated tools that may only be used occasionally. Faster delivery of new profiles and full utilization of a standard tool body can compliment today’s LEAN manufacturing systems.
